Movie star Clint Eastwood involved in legal separation with wife

Contemplating a divorce can be a very difficult and stressful decision for any individual. There are many factors that couples must consider in determining whether or not they wish to remain together. Since Colorado recognizes legal separation, a spouse's first consideration might be just the physical separation from their partner. Religious beliefs, tax benefits and the emotional wellbeing of children are some of the reasons that a couple may choose to first separate without permanently dissolving their marriage.

The wife of movie star Clint Eastwood has recently filed for legal separation. They were married 17 years ago and have a 16-year-old daughter. The couple actually stopped living together at some point last summer which was confirmed in this legal request.

Eastwood's spouse is requesting physical custody of their daughter as part of a potential agreement. She is also asking for alimony payments and shared legal custody of their child. It has been reported that the eventual allocation of marital property will be determined by a prenuptial agreement that is already in place.

As the parties confront the issues surrounding their legal separation, both may benefit from gaining an understanding of the applicable laws and procedures. Colorado couples seeking a divorce may also wish to do so regarding their own circumstances. Those parties that are able to keep the lines of communication open are likely in the best position to achieve a fair and comprehensive settlement of all material issues. With proper planning, a divorce or legal separation can be a major step towards a better life going forward.
